What is TumbleKick Martial Arts™?

We fused the traditional Martial Art of TaeKwonDo with Tumbling for an Exciting Acrobatic Martial Arts Experience.  The benefits of our training have been featured in the LA Times and on the TV Show ‘The Doctors.”

What does TumbleKick Martial Arts training for children consist of?
Tumble Kick Martial Arts fuses the traditional Korean Martial Art of TaeKwonDo with recreational tumbling. Classes are lead by martial arts instructors and a tumbling coach. Classes use tumbling equipment including our signature TumbleKick AirTrack™. Our AirTrack is great for helping children master TaeKwonDo jumping kicks, tumbling techniques, and for highly effective cardio exercise.
Can I schedule a trial class for my child?
Yes. We encourage parents to schedule a trial class to see our class in action and to talk to our instructors or other parents.
Can My Child Make-Up a Missed Class?
Yes your child may make up any missed class any time during their registration period.
How Often Should My Child Come?
To gain the most out of our TumbleKick Martial Arts Program, we recommend students come at least three times a week. Their experience will be richer and yield the benefits of greater confidence and focus.
What should my child wear to their trial class?
Anything comfortable.
What age ranges of children can take TumbleKick Martial Arts training?
Ages 3 – 12. Children ages 13 and up can enroll in our Adult and Teen Martial Arts Program.
Do they need special shoes?
Our students do not wear shoes on our training floors. Working out barefoot is great for improving balance and movement and strengthens the ankles.
What is the TumbleKick AirTrack system?
The TumbleKick AirTrack™ is large inflated surface that combines the bouncy action of the trampoline with the support of a traditional martial arts mat. Flat and springy on one side and the other side is tufted like some upholstery. It can be flipped to either side depending on desired application. It can even be positioned vertically agains a wall for practicing running wall stunts.
( martial arts only) Does my child need to wear a uniform?
Yes. We wear traditional TaeKwonDo uniforms in our martial art classes. The uniform prepares each student mentally for the class, keeps them focused and instills great pride. Our uniforms come with our studio phrase ‘free the warrior within.’  This phrase reflects our goal for students to be their best selves. Tumble Kick Tagline 'free the warrior within'
Who conducts the TumbleKick Martial Arts training for children?

The instructors typically have their Second Degree Black Belt from the World TaeKwonDo Federation. Grand Master Kim has practiced TaeKwonDo and many other martial arts disciplines for four decades and is a former Martial Arts World Champion.
How long has TumbleKick Studios been in operation?
We have been teaching martial arts for over 25 years and gymnastics for 6 years. Our original studio was in the city of Beverly Hills. We then moved to the Sunset Strip and expanded with our second location in Studio City.
Can my child attend both the Studio City and West Hollywood location?
Yes your child can attend either location. We think it is fun to mix things up. Our Sunset Studio has more of a traditional zen feel to it. Like our Studio City location, it has free open parking. It is located at 8182 Sunset Blvd., 2nd floor. at the corner of Sunset Blvd., and Crescent Hts.

What is TumbleKick Zentastic Gymnastics™?

We created TumbleKick Zentastic Gymnastics as a fun alternative to traditional routine based gymnastic programs. Our program is based in  traditional gymnastic activities and infused with the spirit of martial arts to permit youngsters to experience the excitement, fun, and strength of mastering gymnastics skills. They obtain focusing skills, make friends, learn tumbling — all good for mind and body.

Do you offer serious gymnastic training?
We work hard to offer an inspiring gymnastics program where students become well rounded athletes who master techniques, improve their cardio fitness level, and make friends.

We believe that our students master techniques better than they might at large gymnastic centers where they may not get individualized attention.

What makes TumbleKick Gymnastics program different than other programs?
We emphasize the mastery of individual techniques to build poise, confidence and a love of being strong and healthy. We infuse our program with the spirit of martial arts philosophy that emphasizes focusing skills, goal setting, and camaraderie.
Do you teach USA Gymnastic Routines?
We take inspiration from the approved routines but we follow our own approach.
What equipment to you have?
We selected our equipment under the guidance of a gymnastic expert. While boutique size, we have balance beams, the TumbleKick AirTrack system (our own design), crash mats, uneven bars for younger students and requisite spotting equipment.
Can I schedule a trial class for my child?
Absolutely. We encourage all prospective students to experience a trial class.

We have been teaching gymnastics for 6 years. The original martial arts & fitness studio was in Beverly Hills before moving to the Sunset Strip where we incorporated tumbling into our martial arts program. When we opened TumbleKick Studios we created TumbleKick Zentastic Gymnastics™.
What age ranges of children can take TumbleKick Gymnastics training?
Ages 3 – 12.
Who conducts Gymnastics training for children?
Our instructors are former competitive gymnasts. They tell us they like teaching smaller classes where they can develop a closer relationship with the students. They understand our goal to create a positive and friendly environment where students are encouraged to learn new techniques as they continue to master ones already learned.

Our instructors also assist teaching tumbling to our martial arts students.
